“ Definitely worth the Hype. In a bit of a strange strip mall but it is worth the visit. Prices are around $6-$7 per drink, which is technically on the steeper side of things, but nowadays isn't breaking the bank. Drinks are to die for. Both the boba and the teas are magnificent. I had the Chrysanthemum with oat milk and it was perfect. The drinks were ready in minutes, and they actually sell some of their teas in store! There is very little seating but the atmosphere is nice if you do manage to get a table. Worth the trip if you care about your teas. ”

As a tea lover, there were soo many teas on the menu that I have never seen offered at other boba shops in milk tea form (ex Puer and chrysanthemum milk tea) Puer milk tea--absolutely loved this! With just one sip you can tell the outstanding quality of the tea, and the boba was perfectly chewy and sweet The tea frescas alternate every month, and we tried the mango green tea, which was also super refreshing and light Although this tea shop may seem unassuming at first, this is hands down one of my favorite milk teas I've tried and can't wait to return to try the chrysanthemum milk tea soon! ”

“ Camellia has very fast service and some of the best boba in San Diego. There was a decently long line out the door but it went fast and my order came out within a few minutes of ordering. The boba texture is soft and squishy and the tea is great as well. This time I got a hojicha milk tea with boba, 50% sugar and no ice. Would recommend! ”

“ I absolutely love Camellia Road Tea Bar. They offer a huge variety of fresh high quality teas in so many different forms! I love how the menu is structured in a build your own format so really the possibilities are endless and everyone can find a drink that's right for them. Every time I come to San Diego this is a must hit place and a lot of times I come here multiple times per trip, it's just that good. Personally I really like the genmaicha, they use the right water temperature and brew time to get the perfect taste out of the tea. This honestly applied to all the teas on the menu so you can't go wrong. The chrysanthemum jelly is WOW so unique and unlike anything I've ever had before. It is a must try! It tastes like the yeos chrysanthemum drink in jelly form. The matcha is nice, thick and has the right punch of matcha flavor. The Scottish caramel is a unique blend that is good if you want something warm with some fruity tones and if you want to switch it up a bit. They offer a bunch of milk alternatives, have tea agua frescas that change depending on the season, and some special drinks that they have posted on the windows/glass near the register so keep your eye out. If you also like a specific tea they offer 100 grams of loose leaf for $16 to take home and brew yourself. If you aren't sure what to try the staff is so kind and knowledgeable. They will even offer samples of toppings if you want to see if you will like it. They have a pretty large store with good amounts of seating. Every time i have been though it's been packed!! Great study spot with free WiFi and a clean bathroom. They also have a bunch of board games which makes it a nice place to chill and catch up with friends. Parking hasn't been difficult for me. Even though the lot has a lot of cars in it there's always open spots. This place is a home run and I keep wanting to come back time and time again to get my favorites and try new combinations. They're also so consistent so every time it hits. ”

“ This quaint boba tea shop in the middle of a packed plaza is a must-stop every time my friends and I come down from LA for any SD visit. One of the best things about this boba place is being able to mix two tea blends that will perfectly fit your tea taste exactly how you'd like it! Even being in the location it is, service has always been quick and attentive, never needing more than a 5 minute wait to get drinks made. It's definitely made for a nice study spot, with plenty of seating and wifi for all. The menu is straightforward, with many toppings and dairy options to go with their great tea bases. They also have monthly specials if you like a little adventure for your drink choice! I usually go for a bold tea base mixed with a lighter sweet tea base. Typically this will be thai or earl grey tea mixed with chrysanthemum or genmaicza to get a great balance between smoky and bold and floral sweetness. I go for 25% sweetness to get it sweet enough but not too overpowering to fully enjoy the tea taste. If boba is your thing, and I know somewhere deep down it is, this is exactly the place you need to try when you're in the area. You won't regret it! ”

“ Our neighbor said this is his favorite tea house because of the monthly specials. I wouldn't say it's our favorite. The menu is basic and customizable. You pick your choice of tea from a list of 11, sweetness level, milk choice, and toppings. We got the October specials. Strawberry Hojicha was more thick and fruity while the hojicha puer had sticky rice purr tea with creamy oat milk, infused with jasmine rice and tea. Tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Their tea is strong and kept me up. They also sell their loose tea leaf. Very high quality. If we're in the area, I would check out what's on rotation for their monthly specials. Parking in this plaza is not great as it shares the same lot as Daiso and many bars and eateries. ”
